Department of Clinical Investigation
The Department of Clinical Investigation (DCI) mission is to support Graduate Medical Education (GME), to facilitate improvements to health care and the introduction of new technology. Additionally, the DCI Mission is to assure compliance with federal regulations for the protection of human research subjects and for the responsible use of animals in medical research and training. The DCI facilitates and supports the entire process of research approval including research proposal preparation, submission, review, monitoring, funding and contract management of approved research, by providing program administration, education and consultation for all research activities at Brooke Army Medical Center and the three Military Treatment Facilities (Fort Hood, TX, Ft. Polk, LA and Ft. Sill, OK) and clinics covered under its Assurances.
Office of the Chief, Laboratory Services, Animal Services and Statistical Review are located at 3400 Rawley E. Chambers Drive, Suite A (located external to SAMMC in the adjoined building to the left of the flagpole if facing the entrance to SAMMC.)
Office of the Institutional Review Board (OIRB) and the Office of Clinical Research Education (OCRE) are located at Building 3667, behind parking lot D.

0800-1600 are standard hours, although personnel may be reached outside those hours
