Mission, Services, and Research Studies
The Center for Nursing Science & Clinical Inquiry (CNS&CI) mission is to facilitate and conduct research, implement Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and provide decision support. We assist San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) nursing staff to create, discover, interpret, and implement the most clinically relevant evidence into their nursing practice. The vision behind this mission is to enhance the quality and efficiency of nursing care provided at SAMMC and to improve patient outcomes. The CNS&CI consists of PhD-prepared nurse scientists who facilitate and conduct military-relevant funded and unfunded research studies in support of the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) and Army Medical Department (AMEDD) research priorities; Clinical Nurse Specialists who translate the evidence into nursing practice at the bedside and in the outpatient clinical areas to improve nursing care and quality; and Healthcare Systems Analysts (HSA) who provide decision support for the Deputy Commander for Nursing.
