EMPA US ARMH BAYLOR DSCi
Overview
The U.S. Army-Baylor Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (EMPA) Residency is an 18 month program that incorporates a variety of clinical rotations, formal didactic instruction, and research. The residency prepares the EMPA to evaluate, diagnose, and stabilize those conditions which pose an immediate threat to life and limb. The U.S. Army EMPA Residency is unique in that it exists within an established Emergency Medicine Residency (San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium/SAUSHEC) enhancing educational and research opportunities. In collaboration with Baylor University as the sponsoring university, the EMPA Residency was approved as the first DSC degree producing program specifically for PA's in 2007. The U.S. Air Force EMPA Residency merged with the Army Residency in 2011.
Mission

To practice evidence-based medicine and conduct clinical research to benefit MHS beneficiaries, the U.S. Army Medical Department, and the physician assistant profession.
Vision
Be the premier post-professional physician assistant residency program in the country, setting the standard for clinical education by the constant pursuit of clinical excellence through professional development and scientific inquiry.
