Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program

The Orthopaedic Surgery Program currently has fourteen staff members who are highly dedicated to academics. The staff are board-certified and fellowship trained in Sports, Trauma, Hand, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Adult Reconstructive Surgery, Foot and Ankle, and Spine. They also have extensive experience in OEF and OIF. Graduating residents that want to do a fellowship have been successful at obtaining them. BAMC is the Army's only level one trauma center and residents benefit from an excellent "in-house" trauma experience. This trauma experience ensures that our residents are well prepared for battlefield trauma. BAMC is the home institution for the Orthopaedic residency.

Residents enjoy rotations at other world class institutions to include The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and Denver Children's Hospital. Residents are also exposed to a high volume of surgical procedures at one of the largest troop population centers in the United States, Fort Hood, Texas. We believe that the future of Orthopaedics is in the hands of our residents and we work hard to provide an excellent training environment.
