Dermatology Residency Application
Due to military downsizing, only 4th year medical student graduates with a U.S. military obligation (HPSP, USUHS, ROTC) may apply to the Army First Year of Graduate Medical Education (FYGME). Applicants are required to apply through the Medical Education FYGME Branch, Falls Church VA, in addition to applying to the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS), developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

Criteria for Selection
Criteria for selection include academic performance in medical school, USMLE scores, letters of recommendation, demonstrated interest in military service, leadership potential, physical, mental and moral fitness.
Eligibility -- Active duty Medical Corps (MC) officers who are U.S. citizens and a graduate of an accredited U.S. school of medicine. Any MC active duty officer, who is a graduate from a foreign medical school, must possess a standard certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Field applicants must complete a year of allopathic medicine internship.
NLT 15 September of the year before training begins.
