Anesthesia Critical Care Fellowship Education

Anesthesia Critical Care

The critical care fellows are an integral part of daily bedside rounds in the ICU. It is during this time that patient focused problems are identified and discussed. This is the cornerstone of the academic program as it develops knowledge and skills that are of "real-time" importance. Over this backbone the frame of the academic program is further developed. There is a daily lecture by the ICU staff that builds the critical care knowledge base. A weekly lecture in Advanced Concepts in Critical Care is given for the fellows. Lectures in the core general surgery program round out the formal didactic program. The final component of the academic program is based on independent reading of texts and current literature.
