Motion Analysis Hawk Digital System
The motion analysis system can analyze an individual performing functional tasks (ex. activities of daily living, walking, stair climbing, marching). The system creates a 3-D skeletal reconstruction of the movement that allows for the calculation of joint and segmental motion.
The MPL uses eight Hawk Digital Cameras to capture the 3-D motion. The cameras have a 640 x 480 full resolution and can record up to 200 frames per second.
Motion is analyzed by placing small reflective markers over specific anatomical landmarks. The cameras measure the reflection of the reflective markers, providing position data about each marker. The combined position data from the eight cameras allows for the 3-D reconstruction of the movement.
