Military Medical Readiness

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm (Closed every Wed afternoon at 1200 hrs for training)

- Flight Physicals:
- Part I: Call to schedule (6:00 am-3:00 pm)
- Part II: Clinic will schedule following completion of Part I
- Instructions to complete a yearly PHA
- Complete service members portion of PHA through AKO
- Log onto AKO
- Go to My Medical Readiness
- Click on Periodic Health Assessment and complete member portion.
- During normal duty hours, report directly to SAMMC Phlebotomy Lab (1st floor), FSH Clinic Lab, or Camp Bullis Lab to request appropriate lab tests to be ordered, drawn, and processed.
- If you wear glasses/contacts, be sure to complete yearly eye exam with optometry. Call (210) 916-9900 to schedule your eye exam appointment.
- After completing member portion of PHA and labs, call (210) 808-2309/2588 to schedule an appointment with a provider to complete the PHA process. During your scheduled appointment, you will see a provider, and then you will have your MEDPROS screened, and immunizations updated at Physical Exams.
- Bring all copies of Temporary and Permanent Profiles to your PHA appointment.
- The complete visit can take up to 2 hours. Plan accordingly.
- Physical Exams is located in building 1102 on the corner of Taylor Rd and Garden Ave.
- Complete service members portion of PHA through AKO
- Retirement/Chapter/Accession Exams: (6:00 am-3:00 pm)
- Part I: Walk-in to receive prerequisite instructions and paperwork
- Part II: Clinic will schedule following completion of Part I
- Overseas Screening
- Walk-in
- Air Force and Navy must see a provider and Army must see a provider if they are on profile. Limited number of daily walk-in provider appointments
- Pre & Post Deployment Exams
- Must be seen by a provider
- Must have completed associated questionnaires on AKO Medical Readiness prior to scheduling an appointment
- Limited number of walk-in appointments with provider
- Post-deployment exams take precedent
- Air Force can be seen in our clinic for in/out processing. All Air Force physicals must be conducted at the Family Health clinic at Wilford Hall, or may be seen at the Randolph AFB clinic.
Guard and Reservists must be on orders for longer than 30 days or have Commander’s memo authorizing medical care.
